We just returned from a great week of missions training in Chattanooga. We learned a lot about missions, but most of all, we were inspired by the missionary speakers who shared their hearts with us. We heard stories about “lives” that have been changed, and some day, Lord willing, we will be able to tell similar stories.
One of the missionaries told of a woman who had lived a life of sin and 20 years ago cussed him out when he shared the gospel with her. He told oh how he had pretty much forgotten about her, but the national pastor who is now pastoring the church sent him an e-mail a couple a months ago letting him know that the Lord miraculously saved her! She pointed back at that original meeting with the missionary as part of the reason she came to Christ. What a lesson in faithfulness, even when we don’t see the immediate results.
Our children stayed with Julia’s brother and sister-in-law, and had a great time, although they missed mommy and daddy, they had a great time with their 5 cousins! Here is one of the pictures we got while we were gone that helped get us though the week! Every day they had a “theme” and this was “spy” day, everyone made masks to try to disguise themselves. Other days included Zoo day and pirate day! A special thank you to Jim and Rachael Carman for caring for our children while we were away.
Thank you all for your prayers as we traveled. The Lord really worked on our lives this week. We are more excited than ever to get to the Dominican!
